We know shipping a living plant is different from shipping an ordinary product.

Our plants are carefully prepared for their journey, but weather, carrier handling, and the transition from our growing environment to yours can all affect how a plant looks when it arrives.

Here’s what you need to know before ordering.

Shipping Live Plants

We package live plants using methods designed to help protect them during transit.

Weather & Seasonal Shipping

Extreme heat and cold can affect live plants during transportation.

Depending on the season and destination, additional weather protection may be required or recommended.

[PLACEHOLDER: Insert exact heat/cold protection requirements.]

This may include:

  • Heat packs
  • Ice/cool packs
  • Weather-appropriate packaging
  • Holding shipments during unsafe conditions
  • Customer-selected shipping timing

[PLACEHOLDER: Confirm which of these actually apply.]

When Your Plant Arrives

Please bring your package inside as soon as possible after delivery.

Open the package and inspect your plants promptly.

Some temporary shipping stress is normal. You may notice:

  • Mild wilting
  • Drooping
  • Yellowing
  • Minor leaf damage
  • Leaf drop
  • Other temporary changes from transportation

These conditions do not necessarily mean that your plant has failed to arrive alive.

Our Live Arrival Guarantee

We stand behind the live arrival of eligible plants, subject to the requirements and exclusions below.

If your plant arrives dead or has qualifying damage caused during transit, submit a claim within the required timeframe and we’ll review it.

01 — Submit Within 48 Hours

Your claim must be submitted within 48 hours of the tracked delivery time.

02 — Provide Your Order Number

Your order number is required to verify your purchase and delivery.

03 — Provide Photos or Video

Clear photos or an unboxing video must show the issue.

04 — Follow Seasonal Requirements

Any applicable seasonal shipping-protection requirements must have been followed.

What the Guarantee Covers

The Live Arrival Guarantee is intended to cover qualifying live-arrival issues, including:

  • Plants that arrive dead
  • Qualifying transit damage
  • Wrong items received

Each claim is reviewed based on the submitted documentation and applicable policy requirements.

What the Guarantee Does Not Cover

The guarantee does not cover normal cosmetic shipping stress, including:

  • Minor yellowing
  • Temporary wilting or drooping
  • Minor cosmetic damage
  • Normal leaf drop
  • Blackened carnivorous plant traps
  • Natural seasonal changes
  • Dormancy
  • Damage occurring after delivery

[PLACEHOLDER: Final exclusions require client/legal approval.]

Temperate Carnivorous Plant Dormancy

Some temperate carnivorous plants naturally enter dormancy during colder months.

During dormancy, a plant may lose foliage, change color, stop growing, or appear dead while remaining healthy.

Dormancy is not considered DOA.

If you’re unsure whether your plant is dead or dormant, please review our dormancy guide before submitting a claim.
